Ranchi

This hill station of Bihar is actually an old mining town developed over the Chhotanagpur plateau. It has a better climate than the rest of Bihar and is a base for many heavy industries.

What to see: Ranchi Hill, Tagore Hill, Kanke Dam, Ranchi Lake, Tribal Research Institute and Museum, Heavy Engineering Corporation, Hatia Dam, Jagannath Temple.

Excursions: Hundru Falls, Johna Falls, Dassamghagh Falls, Hirni Falls.
