Introduction
Situated on the south eastern side of

Rameswaram and also at the country’s southern tip Kanyakumari,

fabulous bird sanctuary of Vedanthangal; the Pallava cave temples,
the hill resorts of Yercaud, Coonoor and Kotagiri; the Mudumalai
Wildlife Sanctuary in the Nilgiris; the spectacular jellikattu –
the Iocal bull fight; the car pageants of Srirangam, Thiruvarur and
Kanchipuram; the floating festival at Madurai, Triplicane and
Mylapore in Chebbai; the celebrations of Pongal and Navaratri
festival.
