Introduction
Jaipur, the famed pink city of Rajasthan was India's first "planned" city built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II. Built primarily of pink sandstone, this city blushes like a new bride at every sunset. Its palaces and Forts. Jharokhas and Jalis are typical of a style of architecture, which is seen all over Rajasthan. Jaipur is a "Royal City" and its grandeur is further heightened by the processions/festivals that take place particularly during Teej, Gangaur; Holi, etc.
The tourists who visit this city fall in love with it, as it is exotic India at its best. Jaipur has its own pace with colourfully dressed village belles shopping for the famed Jaipur Razais (quilts) whilst their camels stand guard.
