Rudramamba

She was the only daughter of the 6th king in succession of the Kakatiya Dynasty of Andhra Pradesh. She belonged to the 44th Yuga century ( thirteenth century A.D ) and took over the ruling of the kingdom after the death of her father, at avery young age. Her father got her educated fully in the affairs of the state craft. She made a mark of bravery while accompanying her father in the latter's victory tours. But this was unbearable to the feudal lords and the area commanders to have a woman to rule over them. They revolted and neighbouring rulers also found it an occasion to grab her territory. The brave woman Rudramamba defeated them by showing her expertise in combating. Rudramamba married the Chalukya king Virabhadra. They jointly ruled over the Kakatiya kingdom very effectively for many decades.
