The foremost Acharya ( Professor ) of Natya Sastra ( the work on Music, Dance and Drama ), Bharata Muni's Natyashastra presents a thorough and subtle study of music, dance, drama and their background sentiments ( Rasa theory weaving a pattern of multiple tastes and enjoyment of them ). Not only this, Bharata Muni has also told us the method of constructing all the four Susira, Tantri, Atodya and Ghana ( based on reed or pipe - for example, flute, string - e.g. Vina, membrane- e.g. Mrdanga, and metal plates e.g. bell etc.) types of musical instruments. Not only has he clarified the art aspect but also the science aspect of music, dance and drama in his Natyashastra.
