Kanha National Park

Area : 940 sq. km

Best time to visit : April to June and November to January The park remains closed from July to October.

Species found : Tiger, panther, gaur, barasingha, chital, sambar, nilgai, blackbuck, chousingha, barking deer, mouse deer, nilgai, wild dog, boar.

How to reach : Nagpur (266 Kms) is the nearest airport and Jabalpur (175 kms) is the most convenient railhead for Kanha. Kanha is connected by road with Jabalpur, Nagpur, Raipur. Distances within the Park are Koshi Kanha 9 kms, Kisli Katia 4 kms, Kisli Mukki 32 kms.

Bandhavgarh National Park

Area : 105.49 sq. km

Best time to visit : November to June. It remains closed from July to October.

Species found : Tiger, panther, gaur, chital, sambar, nilgai, chinkara, barking deer, bear, wild boar and a variety of upland birds.

How to reach : Khajuraho (230 kms) is the nearest airport. The nearest railheads are at Umaria (30 kms), Satna (117 kms), Katni (100 kms) and Jabalpur (164 kms). Bandhavgarh is situated on the Satna - Umaria and Rewa - Umaria Highway and is well connected by road.

Where to stay : White Tiger Forest Lodge (MPSTDC), Bandhavgarh Jungle Lodge, Tiger Trails, Forest Rest House, P.W.D. Rest House.
