Kedarnath 

The shrine of Kedarnath is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is visited by a large number of pilgrims every year.

How to reach: The airport is at Jolly Grant, Dehradun (239 kms away of which 207 kms is by road and rest 14 kms is on foot). The railheads are at Haridwar (226 kms) and Kotdwara (235 kms). Kedarnath is approachable on foot from Gaurikund which is connected by road with Rishikesh, Kotdwara, Dehradun, Haridwar and other important hill stations of Garhwal and Kumaon.

Where to stay: Dharamshalas.

What to see: Kedarnath temple, Madmaheshwar, Tungnath, Chandrashila, Deoria Tal, Rudranath and Kalpeshwar.

Excursions: Vasuki Tal, Chorabari, Gaurikund, Sonprayag, Trijuginarayan, Guptkashi, Ukhimath, Agastyamuni, Panch Kedar.
