In Hindu Mythology it is the birth place of Lord Rama, the Hindu epic God. Ayodhya is an ancient city with old temples, shrines and mosques.

How to reach: Nearest airports are at Amausi, Lucknow (134kms), Bumrauli, Allahabad (166 km) and Babatpur, Varanasi (209 kms). Ayodhya is situated on the northern Railway line of the Mughal Sarai-Lucknow main route. Is well connected by road to major cities and towns.

Where to stay: Pathik Niwas Saket (U.RS.T.D.C.) and various Dharamshalas.

What to see: Ramkot, The Hanuman Garhi, Treta-ke-Thakur, Nageshwarnath Temple, Kanak Bhawan, Maniparvat, Jain Shrines, Tulsichaura, Tulsi Smarak Bhawan and ghats.

Excursions: Faizabad (7 kms), Sravasti (109 kms).
