Khajuraho

The capital of the Chandela Kings, Khajuraho is famous for it's magnificent temples dedicated to Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu and the Jain Tirthankaras.

How to reach: Khajuraho is connected by air with Agra, Delhi and Varanasi. The two convenient railheads are Jhansi (175 kms) and Satna (120 kms). Khajuraho is well connected by road with Agra (395 kms), Chitrakoot (175 kms), Delhi (596 kms), Gwalior (280 km.), Varanasi (415 kms).

Where to stay: Hotel Chandela, The Jass Oberoi, Hotel Khajuraho Ashok, Clark's Bundela, Holiday Inn and Hotel Jhankar, Hotel Payal, Hotel Rahil, Tourist Village of MPSTDC. A range of medium priced hotels and budget accomodation also available.

What to see: The temples of Khajuraho, divided into three groups - Western Group, Eastern Group and Southern Group, Archaelogical Museum, Beni Sagar Lake (7 kms), Raneh Waterfalls (20 kms), Rajgarh Palace (25 kms), Ranguan Lake (25 kms), Panna National Park (32 kms), Pandav Falls (34 kms), Diamond Mines (56 kms).
