Mandu

Perched along the Vindhyan ranges, the fortress town of Mandu is as renowned for its fine architecture as for the love of poet prince Baz Bahadur for Rani Roopmati.

How to reach: Nearest airport and railhead is Indore (98 kms) which is connected with major cities/towns and from where buses/taxi services are available for Mandu.

What to see: Delhi Darwaza, The Royal Enclave - Jahaz Mahal, Hindola Mahal, Dilawar Khan's Mosque, Taveli Mahal, Ujali and Andheri Baolis, The Central Group - Hoshang Shah's Tomb, Jami Masjid and Asrafi Mahal, Rewa Kund Group - Rewa Kund, Baz Bahadur's Palace and Roopmati's Pavillion. Other Monuments include Nilkanth, Nilkanth Mahal, Hathi Mahal, Darya Khan's Tomb, Dai ki Mahal, Dai ki chotti, Beh ka Mahal, Jah Mahal and Lohani caves.
